DCL coming back fit, fresh and eager to impress. Happy with that
its clear southgate has no plans to sub harry kane unless we are winning comfortably
so no point having a backup striker on the bench if the main striker is just gonna play the whole match anyway
it only becomes a potentially stupid decision if harry kane picks up a red card or gets injured but southgate decided the risk is worth it
if we are losing he has a multitude of attacking players he could bring on and i doubt he would want to just revert to stoke hoof ball type tactics.

our so called great striker is an England squad outcast lol. Just goes to show he’s seen as best of the rest, Bamford,Ings,etc.

Should have been on the bench just in case of extra time and pens but lets be honest, he has hardly set the world on fire in the minutes that he has had, not that there have been many minutes though in his defence. Truth is that he is just not as good as Kane no matter what form he is in.

If Harry Kane got injured DCL was on the bench i don’t believe he would come on, it would be Rashford or play with no recognised striker. It’s clear Southgate doesn’t 100% trust DCL, looking at everton at the end of the season I wouldn’t either. I don't know what the situation is with Vardy but I would have thought if he had been available he would be here in DCL place. Only chance he has appearing in the final ( if we get there) is if we get a few injuries. But time will tell. It would be typical England to mess this right up hope not but I’m not getting carried away just yet.

Thanks for that, I thought he had, if not he would be there, probably in DCL place. Dom’s lazy looking performances at the end of the season Didn’t massively help his cause, but did just enough to get a place in the squad so that’s positive, his team mates didn’t exactly help him either.

Well the way people talk about him you would think he is Kane in disguise in an Everton shirt. He is an ok striker that’s where i put him ok, some people go on about him like he’s a world beater and the simple fact is he isn’t. He suits us where we are but going forward I think need better, perhaps he will get to that level, he was getting better then dropped back again. This coming season will be the test.
