I was annoyed that DCL was not given any time. England needed him as a second striker in the second half should have been him to replace Mount or Rice. Later on should never have been Saka on and not DCL.

Mount had a shocker DC:L would have worried that Italy defence with his pace.....

I don't think Southgate trusts DCL yet in key moments, because DCL hasn't done it consistently and under pressure like Kane, I never thought Kane would come off for DCL from the QFs onwards, but he definitely could have come on instead of Mount, especially when we were playing 3-5-2. Mount didn't really get involved yesterday, and Kane was playing like an Attacking MIdfielder, and was off the pace up front. I think Sancho, Grealish, DCL or Rashford at different times for Mount, Trippier, Kalvin Philips, would have worked better.

Oh yeah, I noticed that little wheeze by the Italian defenders, proper going in on his ankles. No secret he has recurrent problems with them.

Southgate has had DCL for about 6 weeks and has seen him at his best and worst, he will not go on another England tour.

DCL is a good striker, with lots of room for improvement. His 'one v one' finishing is terrible. However, his hold up play is good, and he brings other players into the game well. He requires good service though. He is not getting that, from the current crop at Goodison. We need pace, and creativity in the team. Wide players who can cross a ball, with accuracy and speed is a must. No more tippy tappy, sideways and backwards, from the likes of Sigurdsson, Iwobi, Gomes, Davies. These players are stealing a living at Goodison.

I think he was only there as a back-up in case Kane got injured, as Plan A was always going to be a big no.9 leading the line.

Rashford was clearly the tactical alternative, even though he rarely gets any joy playing through the middle.

Managers do that all the time.

Carlo was probably less stubborn that Southgate, but he could be stubborn at times.

Kane was dropping back because Southgate wasn't supplying tactical answers, if you ask me.

Ancelotti got the job because there is no cheque book.
They will operate a sell to buy policy this summer.

They, along with Barca and a couple of the Italian clubs needed the ESL to get through
