Those two are put forward as if they are the answer for us. They are definitely not. They are bang average and nowhere near the class we need to get into a Euro spot.

People need to stop kidding themselves. The *class* players we have are not class at all. We literally have one player who is CL class: Digne.

It was his only chance to get a pre-season game with the club that pays his wages...we didn't have a striker in this game and got walloped ...Next week we start the season with him(maybe) and no Richarlison...so yes, imo we needed him to play as I can't see anyone else scoring.

Didn’t we beat a team 21-0 or something in pre-season one year and then have a crap season? I think we also lost every game pre-season the year we finished 4th under Moyes.
It doesn’t matter in the slightest that we lost 4-0 today as long as DCL trains and is fully fit for the opening day at Southampton then I don’t care in the slightest that he missed a friendly. Imagine if he had a small issue and made it worse and then missed the first few games when we’re without Richarlison.

If he misses Southampton or doesn’t play well and moans about lack of match fitness then sure I’ll side with you but until then we certainly didn’t need him today.
