Maguire went for £80 millions

Ben White went for £50 millions

A young english striker with a decent goalscoring record in recent seasons can easily fetch £60-70 million if one of the scab 6 come calling.

The fact he only cost us £1.5 million means our FFP problems go overnight + in addition to big earners like Toshun, Siggurdsson, Delph off the books in the summer.

This summer has big potential in terms of recruitment if we get it right and can sell DCL.

If they're really stupid. He's an old fashioned target man, the top teams don't play with one. Chelsea maybe with Lukaku but that's not worked out great for them yet and he's a better player than DCL with a proven goalscoring record over a longer period.

He might be wanted as a plan B a bit like how Liverpool use Origi but not for that kind of money. 60-70 million means he's your number 9 and you build your attack around him.

People need to be objective when it comes to players, buy low sell high and don't nail your colours to their mast.

I never liked Lukaku - yes he could finish when he wasn't playing in high stakes games and looked the part but ultimately he has conned some of the footballing world into believing he is an elite level striker when in actual fact he is a feast or famine player who cant be relied on to deliver. He's made his fortune and broke a record this weekend for being the most anonymous player in a premier league match for 90 minutes.

DCL was the opportunity for us to have a striker who did the things Lukaku couldn't/wouldn't. Been a big DCL fan till he became a bigger fan of himself. He was never a goalscorer - the 6 yard box poaches never convinced me, he isnt a natural finisher but he can score goals and when it supplements his great workrate and target play then he is a player.

For some reason a purple patch under Carlo and a few England caps seem to have made him think the hard work isn't his game anymore...... he seems too occupied with his brand for a player who still has lots to do.

If the money is anything like £60m+ I would sell in a heartbeat.

we are struggling for every point at the moment, we need to score goals, if he's not 100% match fit should we really be playing him?

its a bit of a risk isn't it?

if we were mid-table fair enough but if he's not 100% ready to play then i'd prefer someone else to start up front

go with a front three of gordon, richy and gray for now
Isnt Gray injured?

Whaaa?? Lukaku’s record speaks for itself mate. Sixty four goals at Inter Milan In two seasons.

Also, you need to read DCL’s letter on his insta account. Lots of nonsense spouted so good to get something straight from him.
