2021/22 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It depends what DCL we're getting. If its last year's version we are miles better with him. If its this year's version, its debatable.

Let's not kid ourselves, he's been extremely poor since he came back in January and the intensity to his play has disappeared.
Even this season to be honest. He has not performed well but the rest of the team seem to have a bit more of a clue when he plays.

Maybe Rondon can offer that, I suppose we will see tonight.

As ever, it's impressive how many GOT stalwarts are able to arrive at psychological diagnoses without having had any access to the patient. Everton should sack its physios and hire some "body language" adepts off here.
Every bit this
Why do our fans jump in our players at every opportunity??
Poor behaviour

Lampard on Calvert-Lewin in the press conference: "Individually he's a big player, who's had injuries this season. But the important thing at the moment is the team, in the forward areas we have options. Collectively it's about the team as a whole, everybody pushing and striving to help."

^ Perhaps he knew he was injured, or perhaps he'd already decided to drop him for his recent performances.

All a bit iffy.

It was either the injury or his head being turned...

...gone in the summer i think.

Strange situation this. Either he is genuinely injured again, in which case he's picking them up with Delph-like regularity, or he's been dropped, which means the mental side of his game is off. Either way it's bad news for us and him. It affects us on the pitch and lowers his value and options for a transfer. After last season I really wanted him to stay but now I'm just hoping Newcastle are interested so we can get top dollar for the lad. It's a bit of a shame really.

Getting to stage where you take what you can get for him. The amount of small injuries he's pricking up following on from his big injury earlier in the season is proving to be a major concern.

Not all that fussed though. He doesn't deserve to play on current form.

Just get this useless lump out of the club. He reeks of not being arsed at this point. Hopefully we'll still have the clout of being a Premier league club in the summer and can cash in on the wretched little waster.

A lot of comment/opinion around Calvert-Lewin's 'lazy' performances - on here, digital, papers etc.

On being asked specifically about Calvert-Lewin in his press conference yesterday, Lampard;

"Individually he's a big player, who's had injuries this season. But the important thing at the moment is the team, in the forward areas we have options. Collectively it's about the team as a whole, everybody pushing and striving to help."

I think there's a decent chance Lampard wouldn't have started him tonight anyway but we'll never know.
