It's not as though you've got much choice
No one is going to big any substantial amount for an injured player. The time to sell was early in the summer, now we have to support him so he can hopefully get fit and stay fit, but help him out by signing a proper alternative.

Previous to that missed ten games in three years
He's had constant injuries and knocks ever since christmas 2020 during our good run in the lockdown season. If he had stayed fit throughout that season we would have got Europe.

Well I wasn't blaming him, I was just giving my opinion on that season. We only missed out by like 4 points.
But he is injury prone now and if we are going to keep him long term, then we need a viable alternative who is good enough for this league. That is not Rondon.

There is virtually no chance that we'll ever get a bid for Calvert-Lewin from any club now.
Imagine you're a manager of another club and you see this injury record piling up. No way you risk tens of millions on a player like that.
The future for DCL is that he'll stay with Everton and we'll see him in and out of the team in much the same way as we've seen Gomez or Mina in and out of the team. Players who can - when fit - play a handful of games and then out again for lengthy periods, never attracting a buyer.
That's the chance you take with pro footballers. Those are the breaks.
