….very odd. i’d be amazed if there’s an Evertonian who thinks like that & if there is they will be in a very low minority.

Well I wasn't blaming him, I was just giving my opinion on that season. We only missed out by like 4 points.

But he is injury prone now and if we are going to keep him long term, then we need a viable alternative who is good enough for this league. That is not Rondon.

I was more arguing at the revisionist notion that he was constantly getting injured the second half of that season. I remember Carlo saying he was resting him and I remember a knock, but taking part in all but 5 league games is a great record.

We still know nothing about this injury. It could be the type of thing that put Gbamin out for an extra month when he got his knee caught under Lucas Digne, that's not being injury prone just bad luck.

We can all agree however, that whatever the problem is, Rondon is not the answer.

His improvement under Ancelotti was great. He used to run the channels all the time and do nothing much more, but once he started getting in the box as a first thought, he improved dramatically imo. If we can get him in there this season and give him a good amount of supply, he'll be golden.

Honestly, feel really sorry for him. He was out almost an entire of last season. Back and fit, ready for the opening game. And got injured for at least a month.

I think signing a striker was needed regardless of DCL injury. But now, we need to get someone who is capable of scoring goals, whether from free transfer market, loan or for a transfer fee. I wish DCL a speedy recovery but Everton football club has quickly move on and recruit a Striker who is capable of scoring.
