Not got round to watching it yet but does Frank actually say what the problem is?

There has been mystery around it the entire time because you think it’s a muscle issue but the way they talk about his training plan it’s as if there is some sort of condition that he may have to play on with and manage through the rest of his career to me.

He should be on the bench for a least a month before we think about giving him 90 minutes. We need to see him as the person to come on and change a game in the last 20. Not as our main striker.

….if he’s fit then he has to be our main striker. We saw the difference when he started the Palace game.

i wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on the bench for Wolves.

I genuinely don’t think anyone could argue against that .
This is GOT remember; I think it’s inevitable that someone would argue against that.

Regardless of what Frank has said, he’s only recently restarted actual training with the squad, and they’re unlikely to risk him from the bench.

15 or 20 minutes every week is far better than 2 x 90 minutes then out for 3 or 4 months.

He needs a prolonged period without injury if he's ever to get back to his best, and the evidence is that he can't put games together at the minute.

….it’s a difficult one but his injury could easily resurface coming off the bench. 20mins sounds fine as long as you have a chance of getting something from a game.

It appears that he so many medical concerns one has to ask will he ever be fit and for how long. Beginning to think he will never be of any use. Is he another Mina ?

Hes huge for us, game changer and difference maker.

Much of our season rides on his fitness.

It's sort of true, but not necessarily in a positive way.

He's important to us simply because there are very few players capable of scoring more than a handful of goals each in this side, so his importance is really a testament to the flat-out negligence of the club to recruit goal scorers. DCL is a decent forward with some good attributes, but he's hardly prolific or banging in winners every week like a Benzema or Salah or Kane.

His value is by default considering the only other options are one-goal Maupay and the kid Cannon whose played 5 minutes of football. Palace goal aside not sure I'd call DCL a game changer or difference maker as he doesn't do it week in week out, he's just the best option of the small low quality pool we have to pick from (when fit enough to play of course).

Our season rides on us getting at least 2 quality attacking players in January. If we can do that and if they can get 10 goals a piece in the second half of the season, then DCL becomes less and less relevant. We cannot rely on a perma-injured, low scoring striker and expect to skip along to mid-table comfort.

….I did say when serious quad muscle injury was diagnosed that it could hinder his career but from Lampard’s comments earlier, this latest setback is a knee injury. I’d be less concerned if that’s the case.
