2022/23 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I really dont understand why anyone gives a hoot about what Dominic Calvert-Lewin does in his spare time.
Be no interest if he was playing. Very unusual injury record now, so fans are beginning to question his lifestyle and commitment to his full time paid profession. Remember myself getting ragged on here over questioning Barkley lifestyle way before it became trendy... Being the premier league footballer is your lifestyle.

Ignoring the fact this is a load of rubbish, what modelling has he done recently?
Seems to me like after people like you started chatting rubbish about him he’s stopped following his outside passions and is only focussed on getting fit and playing for the blues… not that it had any impact but it seems from his interviews that the backlash from something completely irrelevant to his fitness is what affected his mental health.
it may even be his outside activities that are helping him with getting his head in a good place (if that is indeed what the problem is, we don't know), and by removing that distraction, it could be making him worse.

I wouldn't be surprised if the younger players come on here every so often to see what is being said about them, I hope not as there are plenty of clueless biffs in here some days.

Is it? He played every game for two or three seasons or something like that, then was hurried back over and over before he was fully healed - which will lead to more problems down the line. Its not strange at all, far from it.
Not a single manager has questioned his dedication to playing football, quite the contrary actually, they all say hes chomping at the bits to get back to playing regularly. In other words, him not being commited is a fan theory, most likely stemming from(imho) dudes being uncomfortable with his modeling of skirts etc.
Being unconfortable with it is fine, lashing out towards DCL and calling him all kinds of nasty bs is not. I think its a bit odd myself, but i also find it dead weird when people enjoy listening to U2 or like watching cricket. Doesnt make liking u2, cricket or wearing skirts wrong, or something i should crap on people for. We’re all different, and thats a good thing. Im ok wearing jeans, listening to Sabbath and watching football, what others choose to do is so beyond irrelevant(as long as noones hurt by it ofc) its absurd.

Not claiming you think or mean any of what i wrote here @NilSatisOptimum, just my thoughts on the matter. :)

I don’t think spending your nights in clubs is equal to standing for a few photos on your days off now is it.

I believe Dyche when he says he wants him as fit as possible before him being rushed back. Would rather have him for 10 games than just the odd one here and there.
I'm glad Dyche is taking the long view rather than rushing him back. Actually sounded quite optimistic that he's back out doing individual training, when Dyche spoke previously about taking his time etc I feared it could be further towards the end of the season til he'd worked through his issues.

Same here, get him fit and ready to play for real this time. When hes healed, use him as a sub for a few games to get his body used to the punishment again before throwing him on for 90minutes and pretending to be surprised when he breaks down.
Doms body has clearly gotten more brittle than it was, but lets not fake being surprised if he ends up hurt after being tossed on for full games the second hes back. He clearly needs to be eased into it again, even if he is our best striker. We are much better with him playing, but hes no good to us if this continues happening. Its the recruitments fault we’re in this mess, not Doms modeling.

With DCL's injury record recently, I'd rather put my faith in the manager to decide when he's ready rather than focus on his modelling assignments. As other posters have said, previous managers have not doubted his desire to play. At last we have a manager that is taking a more realistic view and giving him the time he needs.

Hasn't started more than 5 games in a row since 20/21 season and his injury worries. I think he's goosed and we have to pick and choose which games he features, we cannot rely on him being fit for more than 50% of the remaining games.
