Maybe he only plays that system, because we have no recognised striker worth the name available to play.

Yes, that's what I mean. He's playing this way because he has to in order to make it work.
If Calvert Lewin becomes an option, then I suspect we would change to make use of his attributes, while still having the option to revert to a formation and style that the players know and can grind out a result with if he gets injured again or if a game demands it.

Its just relief at having a Centre forward, i find it mad stressful playing games without a PL class forward.

I was watching a recording of last Sunday’s National Hurling League final last night when the preamble featured Limerick’s four-time All-Ireland winning full-forward Seamus Flanagan.

Apparently, he runs a sideline fashion business and said he was inspired by some of the footballers “like Dominic Calvert-Lewin” who are wearing great clothes…

I thought to myself that it was different when Joe McKenna was playing…

As much as he frustrates me with his never ending injuries and one decent goal scoring season, we are definitely a better team when he is playing even if he does miss more than he scores. His presence up front and dominance in the air seems to give the rest of the team more confidence to get the ball forward earlier and more often. Hope he plays in all of these remaining games. We will have a better chance of staying up with him playing than not.
