The fact that the club has effectively gambled our Premier League status on this crock being able to string together more than a handful of games is just sickening. Sad for the player but this was always the risk with someone like him.

Part of me feels that we'll need him next season if we do sadly go down, but that entirely ignores the fact that he's unlikely to contribute many appearances.

I feel sorry for him as it won't be his own fault, but his legs quite simply can't be relied on at anywhere near this level.

People don’t like sympathy for millionaires but I bet he is properly mortified. It’s starting to look very Andy Carroll for him, but also any designs he had on a move in summer look unlikely.
