Everton have ridiculously thought that this player could pull us out of our relegation battle????
Not the lad’s fault.
It’s a symptom of the general malaise at the club and the way it’s been run, that we sell two of our three attackers (Rich and Gordon) and rely on a player with significant and reoccurring injury problems) to help us avoid relegation. Its not on him that his body is breaking down, the club should have planned for this and bought accordingly (and not Maupay)!

He's probably realized its the last time he'll wear an Everton shirt

I haven’t been his biggest fan however I was made up to see him improving in his sharpness and hold up play. He was excellent at Brighton . If you right then that’s a shame, given his fitness record we might be looking at a fee not exactly substantial in the grand scheme of things.

When he's fit I really like him - and I really wish he could get over his injury problems

We might have to let him go no matter what - his wages may be prohibitively expensive to us

I think we learned two things:

1) There is no "fully fit" DCL. All the work and patience to get him right and he only lasts a handful of games. At best he's likely to be a sporadic player, I don't know what else can be done, it's obviously chronic.
2) He isn't getting sold this summer, no matter what happens, no one is taking a chance, certainly they are not matching his wages. We have to hope he can contribute something in the Championship if we go down, enough to help us come back up or playing enough for us to sell him in January or next summer. But if things continue as they are I'm not sure if he ever signs another contract as a footballer, certainly not a top level one. Who would take a chance?
