Lads, we knew we couldn't rely on him. FGS, the lad can't rely on his own body.

We need a hero - and it's not, sadly, going to be DCL.
Cometh the hour..

just seen the replay, it looked like he grabbed the top of his right hammy when he pulled up. We can only hope he stopped before any real damage was done. If there is any chance of getting sometime time out of him next week we have to risk him.
Yeah BBC said hamstring and Dyche said hamstring when asked something in the presser, wasn’t talking about Patterson as his is “jarred knee”.

I can’t see anyone going off before halftime with any sort of hamstring issue after 2 years of injuries playing a week later. Even if he started, the team would be waiting for the inevitable and we’d be on plan B after 20 mins. Hoping for a miracle really. After all this time, he will know his body inside out (and that level of constant pain/symptom monitoring ruins you mentally) so it’s not like he’s mistaken cramp for something else.

The way they’ve delayed and delayed his return, potentially putting points at risk, and it still hasn’t helped him be more robust, I can’t see much hope. Summer of rehab is no different to missing 3 months of the season. They’ll start talking about ops at some point, and mystery specialists in Austria or Canada; that really will be the end of him.

I just hope ALL players out the shift of their lives in next week. Their work ethic has been good, but I wouldn’t want anyone trying to protect themselves from injury in case they get a move if we get relegated. Cynical I know, and I don’t they anyone would, but next week will be the game to end all games so full commitment required.

So frustrating. Not blaming him, just horrible that when he came back playing well and enjoying his footie he breaks down again. Can't imagine it will do him much good mentally. Ain't doing much good for us in our situation either that's for sure.

Crap all round.
I do feel for him he is in a really tough spot at the moment, I have seen a few people in similar situations through my work and it's horrible. Do you push on and have a bitty career that's very stop/start all the time and run the risk of needing a walking stick by the time you are in your mid to late 40's because your hamstrings have collapsed. Or do you call it a day now whilst you can. Being a pro footballer is a dream for a lot of young lads though and it's not any easy decision to make.
