Big Nev on Merseyside last night says he's our only 'potential world class' player.

"if he could stay fit he'd be as good as Haaland"

That's quite a big if there, Nev.
Branthwaite, Onana and Garner have higher ceilings. By a mile.

The boy is good but not great and since he came back hes missed a fair few chances.

Never been potentially 'world class' in the slightest.

He’s got some time now to get ready for the pre season. It does look like Dyche managed him better than the last 2 managers. He was as influential in our survival at the end as Mina. Put in great displays at Leicester and Brighton away. Leas the line well in his 1st game against Palace. Gave City a lot to think about in the 1st half. We need a good striker to lighten his load this season. But I think he will be better this season. Who would have thought Mina would have played 4 high intensity games without a murmur of breaking down. Give the manager and DCL a bit of patience here and let’s hope we can his career back on track because he is a top player that should be playing at his peak.

That "if" is almost as big as Nev himself.

Haaland: 22 years old, 52 goals in 51 games so far for City in just his debut season alone.
DCL: 26 years old, 60 total career goals for EFC since 2016 debut.

Might as well compare a Fiat with a Ferrari because they both have 4 wheels.

In fairness to him when he came back he appeared in better shape then he had been since the 16 goal season but it is clear he will never be capable of a 25 game run without an injury

He's a good centre of reward, leads the line well and makes such a difference to our side. Unfortunately I doubt if he'll ever play more than 20 games In a season again. I doubt that we can sell him for anything more than buttons, due to his well documented injury struggles, so I would bring in a steady Eddie target man and play Calvert Lewin as a second striker in games we are expecting to win or as an impact sub, coming on to run at a tired defence for the last 20 minutes when we are chasing a game.

Let's not get distracted by one former player's remark.

When he's fit, he's very effective in the PL, that's not in question.

It's only his injury record that is under scrutiny.
