Big Nev on Merseyside last night says he's our only 'potential world class' player.

"if he could stay fit he'd be as good as Haaland"

That's quite a big if there, Nev.
On his day he's magnificent and his work ethic is beyond reproach.

However, he clearly has certain struggles that we as fans are not necessarily party to. And for that reason he can't always fulfil his role as our talisman.

Great as back up, but we shouldn't have been relying on him as our only proven striker.

Dyche keeping us up is tantamount to a miracle when you think about it.

Would be wonderful to have a legit second striker so we could play him every other match or take him off around 60 minutes to protect him.
'second striker'-?? It's more like 2 "first choice" strikers we need with DCL being a third/backup if and when available. Cannot go into yet another season with a perma-crock as first choice. Injured half the time, and when he is fit he still only got 7 goals in his last 36 appearances. That can't be first choice thinking if we want anything beyond another relegation battle.

The obvious fit to come in is that lad from Coventry now they have missed promotion.

Not prolific by any means but works his socks off, doesn't mind pulling out wider to get others involved. 15/20 should get it done.

(obviously I'm not a scout, there must be others out there suitable/available)

….I like Gyrokes but I’m not convinced about him making the huge step-up to PL. He’s competitive and combative but I can see most CBs being comfortable against him with superior pace and power.

I’d much prefer us to bring in somebody like El Bilal Toure, a youngster we were linked with yesterday.

I saw that link over the weekend and went on transfer market website fairly excited.

He has a record of muscle injuries, sounds perfect lol

He’s got some time now to get ready for the pre season. It does look like Dyche managed him better than the last 2 managers. He was as influential in our survival at the end as Mina. Put in great displays at Leicester and Brighton away. Leas the line well in his 1st game against Palace. Gave City a lot to think about in the 1st half. We need a good striker to lighten his load this season. But I think he will be better this season. Who would have thought Mina would have played 4 high intensity games without a murmur of breaking down. Give the manager and DCL a bit of patience here and let’s hope we can his career back on track because he is a top player that should be playing at his peak.
Give DCL patience? Seriously?

He had a full pre-season last year btw.

He may get fit during the break but history says that he's likely to break down again fairly soon afterwards. That's the reality so we need 2 additional strikers.

If we dont get another "decent" striker in then we really will deserve all we get next season as we will have demonstrably failed to learn our lessons.
