Just bite the bullet on this feller after his next inevitable injury and by-pass him in January with a proper striker coming in.

If he then makes a few sub appearances so be it. But sell next summer or ASAP.

….if he’s fit, healthy & robust, he’s very good. He’s a long way better than ‘bang average’. He’d make a huge difference to our side.

it’s not about whether he’s good or bang average, it really is about whether he’s fit and healthy. As I posted when he first got injured, I have my doubts about his robustness.

You can interpret either way really, no one really knows, so it’s subjective, I’d hold a concern.

Not optimal for a young athlete either way.

I’d rather he was fully fit and playing every week but he’s had like 3 or 4 set backs now since his big big injury, if this throttled approach is new, I’m all for it, we need to look after him better than we have.

Would still hold a concern personally, it’s over 2 months now since his original injury, he’s had checkered fitness now for over a calendar year, recovery and break down. He’s missed a quarter of this PL season already. This absence is also longer then was anticipated and he still isn’t training fully. That’s concerning to me. So throwing him into games sounds like calculated risk taking to me.

Two things may be at play, stilted recovery and managing his load. Both logical, however also playing games in that context may not be clever and carry risk if he isn’t training fully as you can’t control the environment or physical demands in a game, i just hope his playing is not out of the need to have more teeth in a gummy frontline and the lad pushing it with the coaching team to try and crack the England team.

More concern then not personaly weighing it all up, didn’t like the sound of the approach my myself.
