Our fans do not help our own cause sometimes. People are actually expecting Calvert-Lewin to come back and drag us up the league on his own. He’s been out so long that they’ve invented a player in their heads that doesn’t actually exist.

To get the most out of DCL we need to put consistent quality crosses into the six yard box and we have nobody that can cross a ball. I mean I’m hoping he returns an absolute machine that can make his own goals all of a sudden but let’s just hold fire on that one.

Agree, also because the likes of Romero seem quite happy to kick lumps out of strikers at times so it might not be the best game for him.

Rooney, first two seasons with us got 8 in 37 then 9 in 40 then got 17 in 43 on his debut season for United, he didn’t start hitting 20+ a season until his 3rd season with United when he was 21

I hope the experts make the right decision with him.
I only think that whatever they do, some will think the opposite and take personal pride in that.
I hope he starts and has a good 60mins at least and actually scores the winner.

Yes, we must handle this situation intelligently. Make sure he never trains or plays matches again. It would be irresponsible to ask a professional football player to ever take to the pitch, they might get injured, then where would be...we'd lose our ability to play him

He's a 1-in-3 striker, always has been, always will, and that is more than good enough if we get goals elsewhere in the team. That's ~13 goals every season.
