I was one of those, thought he looked terrible for a couple of seasons. I was wrong and Im very happy about it. Dom is a good striker and seems a good lad.I think a lot of people went hard on the hate for him in 2017 when he broke into the team. They don't like having been proved massively wrong and made to look like tits, so as soon as a he has a remotely bad game they're delighted and jump on his back as much as possible in the hope they'll finally be proved right.
Personally I think that was due to frustration. Like he JUST came back from a however long injury and gets injured straight again? Out of order tho, I'd bet almost all who did boo were just frustrated with how everything seems to snowball.Excellent post
There are some who are DESPERATE for him to fail and will leap on ANYTHING if it fits the narrative they want to peddle
DCL has received some of the most undeserved stick I've ever seen an Everton player get on this forum
Him getting booed off after being injured at Villa highlights that this isn't just an online issue anymore either. It's seeping into the match going fan base too
I think it actually just highlights that Doucoure is a weak spot in the side at times rather than DCL. I don't think we need to have Beto and DCL playing together, rather we need a CAM or CF who has more tools to their game than Doucoure and can either unlock our wide players/DCL better or they're just a better player like Richy was.
Doucoure is both one of our most and least effective players and it's him we need to rotate in and out of the side. Hopefully in the next few windows (if possible) we address that.

Well that's just plain wrong. He broke his cheekbone, no? Uncalled to be slating anyone because of an injury. Except Morgan Schneiderleine and Fabian Delph. I'm fine with them being boo' regardless. As someone who was there and heard what was being said, it was more than just frustration
It was genuine hatred, and they were itching to do it
Bingo. We need a number 10. But we haven't got one and won't be getting one.
We have one but he basically not a footballer anymore. We need a number 10. But we haven't got one and won't be getting one.
Alli?We have one but he basically not a footballer anymore.
????
Mate the last time he proper went for it a goalkeepers shoulder broke his face. I doubt you would continue to do something in work if there was a chance that would happen again.
Yeah I agree. What he adds to us is immeasurable. It’s not just goals, that’s not his full game, it’s his battling, it’s his runs dragging players out of position, however we just don’t have smart enough players to see that space and use it. Strikers will always be judged on goals and I get that but he is being asked to do more work than say under Carlo who just told him to be up front, on the last defender, his game is more rounded now.Excellent post

Nope. The physiological side of that must be awful. I’m going for this header but what if I get smashed again and someone breaks my face again. I done my ligaments twice in my ankle and never ever played football after the second time. It just put me off forever because of the pain and hob biking around for weeks/months after each time.probably should if it's your job like
he didnt break his face, he was back playing a few weeks later.Nope. The physiological side of that must be awful.
