Doucoure gets to pop up in those areas he is because he is playing as the second striker and DCL is moving the defenders out of that space.

I’m quite happy with the role DCL has been playing, because like discussed above, it brings others in who are then scoring.

Michael Keane looked a decent player that season, because it was training rather than real football. It’s very much an anomaly season in every single aspect.

The sample size is big enough now. He’s an experienced centre forward, and has an Emile Heskey-like goalscoring record in the Premier League. He’s not a raw youngster still learning his trade and honing his skills. He’s never going to be a regular double figure goalscorer.

The point was that having excellent players around him like Digne and James to pick him out, he is able to get the poachers goals. The same way Haaland can get so many, having 5 players every game who can pick him out with pinpoint accuracy.

Now, we don’t play like that or even try to. So there’s no poachers goals.

Why does Doucoure get so many poacher’s goals then?
