The thing that bugs me the most is how do you not call it a foul on the field then make that decision WITH VIDEO EVIDENCE that is beyond harsh? Dom had studs up. True. But did Dom tackle directly through the man or was he playing the ball? You can see his foot do a curling motion at the end to corral the ball. It was obviously not malicious and he had no intent to hurt the guy. How do you go back and give that after the decision had already been made? It was one thing to call it on the field but with video evidence on your side it is corrupt.

His red seems to have got lots of attention and comment to the point I think the appeal may actually work. I genuinely think part of that is because the match was so dull and the only one that night.

Garner or Harrison put away their chances and it would be a different news cycle.
I think if there had been a hundred games that night everyone would still think it was an outrageous decision

Has the club appealed?
Our appeal department is now bigger than our scouting network.

Defo get overturned. Pundits, players and ex referees all strongly condemning it and exasperated with the state of VAR interference. They’ve literally forgotten all of their own rules around when it is suppose to be used.

Wouldn’t surprise me if “reduced to a yellow” to save a bit of face, which would still be appalling.

It's a mental thing with him. Players don't just lose their skillset as it's a muscle memory thing so he can still do what he did. At the moment though he just doesn't seem too have that real desire to really threaten a goalkeeper or a defender. Id hope that the club has some sort of sports psychologist and they are doing a few sessions with him.

He can’t lose his skillset of finishing because he’s never had it .
