Would find it fascinating to see how many goals people think Haaland would score in our setup.

Know it totally imaginary as he’d down tools and demand a transfer in the unlikely event he’d been here in the first place but think it would highlight how many think it a DCL specific issue versus an issue with the team itself (a camp which I am basically in).

Anyone care to place their bets and state their case, or the reverse for that matter - how many would Dom score at City?

Haaland would get 20 alone from the set pieces.

But anyway, I love Dom, I have said many times, hes everything I look for in a Number 9, tall, wins headers all day and he slots.

This season has been a bit up and down for him.

Hes finally managed to stay fit and IMO he was vital to us staying up, not just him, but his goals and his performances 100% kept us up.

He went a long time without a goal, there is no hiding from that and at times he did miss a few guilt edge chances, but I do feel as tho he was mostly starved of service. I suppose when you get 1 chance, you are meant to take them at this level, fair enough. But even in games he didnt score in, he contributed.

Hes ended the season very well and I suppose its TBD if he signs a new contract, is sold or the least best option, he enters the final year of his contract.

I think my thoughts on this matter are pretty clear, we would be foolish not to get him signed up and then in the Summer try and get him the tools needed to succeed and for the team to succeed.

They are my final words, for now.

In Dom we Trust.

He doesn't though, not very often. I like DCL, he leads the line well, harasses centre backs and is definitely our best centre forward (albeit that isn't hard given the competition) but he doesn't slot enough. Sadly.

It doesnt really take a genius to think that maybe we should ping a few crosses on the noggin of our number 9 in the area and not on the halfway line, if we want him to score goals that is.

But you know what, hes been here 7 years now, you either like him or you dont.

I get it, its a forum, so im all for chatting biscuits, but I doubt anybody will be changing their stance any time soon.

Hes without question my favourite player, for large portions of the season he was the only light in my Everton world and he wasnt even scoring!

Of course I like the boy Branners, but im trying not to get emotional attached, cos you know.

So if hes not for you, I understand, 7 goals isnt anything to write home about.

Big Dunc only ever broke double figures twice and I loved him as well, so if hes not your cup of tea, great stuff, I hope you find your Everton enjoyment elsewhere.

There are plenty of 'pre assists' from James that season for his goals, it's not something I use as a metric myself but having somebody unlock a defense for your striker is something we simply do not have right now.

Realistically a better example would've been JameZ, Gylfi and Richarlison, as they all supplied him all year long between them and he scored for fun, but I get what you mean.

Saying it again though, we could have anyone up front and with this game plan they're not scoring that many more than DCL is.
