2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Its not fun when fans of other teams tell you they feel bad for your main striker. Like when have you ever done that for anyone else?

I am of the type that would rather want him to come good instead of getting rid now, also because its economically unsound to sell an asset like him when he is at his worst, but it sure is a hard position to defend.

I defy any lone striker to play well under Dyche and hoofball

For the amount of minutes he's been given its appalling.

To put it into perspective Southamptons top scorer is adam armstrong on 2 goals and 1 assist. Yet he's played far less minutes. I mean even leicester and ipswich have forwards on 6 goals each.
Along with Armstrong he's the worst performing forward in the league for doing that weird thing. Scoring. I mean worse if you take the game time.

You cant really keep hiding from it. He's the worst performing forward in the premier league.

Don't think he's a bad player or anywhere near it but I don't think Everton is right for him. Guaranteed starter for the last 4 managers and a lot seems to based on his form during covid. Probably low on confidence and I imagine his constant injuries, relegation scraps and internal club politics hasn't helped with the pressure. Seems like a genuine lad in interviews so hopefully everything works out for him.

Fixed that ;)

I would say two things can be true. One, that Dyche sets up his striker to fail, and two, that DCL makes no effort and checked out before the season began. Combine the two and I believe thats the leading cause(not the only) of our lack of goals.
Yep agree with that and if you look at the Xg last season DCL was the worse offender in the league! Still it's on Dyche for consistently playing him. Can't believe he's actually getting clapped off the pitch by our fans when's he is subbed.
Think he'll go in January?
I hope so then Dyche won’t be able to play him. His attitude stinks.

Why do you think Dyche persists if he's sulking?

I thought there was a difference when Broja came on and defenders started bouncing off him. Possession retained and bought us some times for players to support. Calvert Lewin can be brilliant at this (Liverpool game for example) but too often his touch has been lacking and gets pushed around. Getting into his later 20’s he will probably need to bulk up a bit to play the target man role.
