2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I'm probably being naive but isn't there a some sort of contract extension he'll agree to in order to keep him until the end of the season, let him leave in the summer and get something for him? In all honesty he doesn't deserve a new deal considering his performance this season.

And DCL is the one giving the defenders the run around for 70 odd minutes.

Did so much good yesterday but any mistake or miss and it’s jumped on.

If he was having 5 shots on target a game and not scoring, he would be an issue. He barely gets two opportunities a match.

We don’t even have good crosses to play to his main strength which is laughable.

Even the goal, doucoure’s cross was behind DCL. Luckily N’Diaye is magic.

Never going to be onion bag, even the season with Carlo, was just ok for me, other strikers would have been in the 20s alone for league goals. Reckon he has had a bit of a rude awakening with what's on offer for him, believe he would be long gone had something that matched his value of himself. Better at working the back line that scoring goals...

Personally I have never been fully convinced he is good enough to lead the line for a Premier League team looking to improve. He did have a purple patch which seen him getting an international call up and I accept he is not getting the service he would need to get on the score sheet. I don’t doubt that when we get rid of Sean Dyche and bring in a better standard of footballer he may get a few more goals, however I look around at other centre forwards and ask myself would I rather have him than DCL and too often the answer is yes. I think we can get a reasonable fee for him at the moment, given his contract, our profitability position and his current goal drought. I think it is time for a change and that the change would benefit all concerned.

I think it should b mentioned that very few fans booed him off the large majority of fans applauded him off, I’m a fan of Dominic but this season he has been keeping himself from giving his all like he has done in the past, losing the ball too easily instead of fighting for the ball and I know he doesn’t get many chances offered up to him but he has missed quite a few one on ones. I think he will go at the end of the season and get a very good contract somewhere else so good luck to him in the future.
Those very few fans were very loud. There's way too much personal vitriol also aimed at Dom just because he has decides to do modeling, I am not surprised he wants out. I'm not saying he's a great striker, but it's unwarranted and we as a fanbase should be better.

Even though I don't rate him at all, I have no idea why he knocked back that Newcastle move if it was as far along as reported. Can't see who's offering him a big contract now.

That’s

he’s going for free.. he’ll have a choice of decent PL cubs + European in the summer 100%

I hope he gets a move to Leipzig so your two loves can be combined.
East Germany is a hotbed for edgy fashion so he'd likely fit right in. Also close enough to all the big department stores and fashion houses of Berlin. This may be read in jest but players' outside of football passions definitely play a role in their playing destinations.
