2024/25 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Will surely be a loan but obviously need to ditch Broja first which will probably take all week to sort out with Chelsea but it needs to be done and new owners will probably have to take a financial hit there.

Wouldn't have beaten Spurs without DCL goal and all round performance so at least he turned up against them to kickstart Moyes 2:0 if that will be his last serious contribution of the season.
Chelsea would probably like us to take someone else on loan from them. Either way we're paying them.

What I meant was not many clubs want strikers to leave in January. Especially if they are first choice.

Yes DCL like him or not is our best striker. Offers us his hold up ability. Beto while works hard can't do that. I doubt he is leaving this window, so hopefully he'll improve with a run of games.

I think he was on his way out under Dyche and I think had Moyes been here before, I think he may have stayed.

This injury I am hoping isn't too bad because we need him.

DCL has been fit for a long period and I don't understand the hatred for him because he gets 1 chance a game under Dyche.
I think its more frustration than hatred towards him. The fact he might have been getting very few chances can`t over shadow some of the great chances he can get and miss. Add to that the fact he is out of contract soon and the way things are in modern football, if a player wants to stay at a club they are signing a new deal at least 12 months before they are out of contract, and it seems he is looking at other options.

Dom was one of the main reasons why we beat Spurs.

This is what some fans do judge a player under the previous manager, if Haaland was playing under Dyche he would be useless.

Dom was brilliant v spurs certainly not a player who has given up
Spurs, who are much worse than Brighton this season and missing a million players. He scored a lovely goal, but we were much more in command that game. And one goal after a spectacular barren spell does not make a summer.

We all hope Beto will improve. He wont though !

how come Obrien has looked a player in the last 2 games, same with Mykolenko same with Lindstrom, the reason being Dyche held these players back, DCL would have got a lot more chances under Moyes than Dyche.

That spectacular barren spell we probably as a team only created half a dozen chances in 20 games hence the 3 wins

Dom was part of the problem. And now he is out for a lengthy spell so everyone can speak his legend for games he won't play. I wish Dom luck wherever he goes and that he recovers from injury, but his welcome has been worn out. He isn't good enough. Not all his fault. He needs a change of scenery.

Great, but as a football and Everton fan, the prospect of Beto leading our line makes me vomit.

Let me say this. I get that people don't like Beto leading the line. He's crap etc etc. Most of the shouts are fair. But I am bored of this mentality that even when a player wins us a game, everyone is looking to throw him under the bus and sing the praises of a guy that sucked butt for a very long period. Beto is far from perfect. He probably won't be an answer to any question. But if you read his thread you would think we lost the game.

I think people realise what a loss DCL is.

He looked a bit more up for it under Moyes.

He 100% switched off under Dyche, thats on him, but also on the manager who continued to pick him.

Its looking very likely he moves on in the Summer and its the best option for the player and the club, I hope he goes somewhere and does well.

But in the short term, I think hes a massive loss.

I do not. At all. I think McNeil is the far bigger loss.
