Basically there was a question about whether DCL's goal scoring record was because of poor service, and Dyche pointed out that DCL had the worst xG underperformance in the league last season to defend the service, because if DCL actually bagged the chances he gets the service wouldn't appear nearly as bad.

On this I actually agree and I've made the point a few times myself - but if he's aware of how poor DCL's finishing performance is statistically it does beg certain other questions.

Surely there was another way of Dyche answering that question without battering his player's confidence even more just to save face himself.
xG can add up from poor chances too
He had one header last week and very rarely gets service across the six yard box which would suit him best
Dom is under performing but Dyche is under performing more imo

Could say we've ended up with a forward who thinks he's worth elite money despite netting 16 goals in 5 years and a manager who thinks his tactics and approach is putting them on a plate.
Kin hell. Some ego's we got at this club for a side sitting in the bottom 5.
 
Press making out this is bad news for us. Complete opposite in my opinion. Beto gets his chance to make a mark and if hw shows half the passion to play when he's come on lately as a sub it's still 100% more effort than DCL has shown recently.

West Ham defenders might actually have to break a sweat tomorrow seeing as they will be up against a player who actually breaks into a run now and again as opposed to Dom just strolling about
