DCL is probably the most improved PL player in the past 13 months, all credit to him for working hard and learning, all credit too to Koeman for his part in his development.

lol he's had 2 decent performances ffs. hes improved but my god the hyperbole over this lad now is getting ridiculous.

what is it with our fans and massively overhyping our youngsters.

No mate, it wasn't his fault he was played out on the wing but he was still crap and was deservedly called so.

Am I supposed to turn a blind eye when he was obviously not performing to a reasonable standard despite it not being his fault he's played out of position? Nah, I'll call it as I see it.

He's kicked on and is actually making an impact in games but last season he was a complete passenger in matches and I'm not going to hear anything else.

Let's not pretend you were massively impressed by him before the U20 World Cup lad.

:coffee:

he was 19, any youngster deserves a bye ball and not abuse.
is that the best you can come up with?

Mate where is this "abuse" you're talking about?

People moaning about seeing him on a team sheet because he hadn't done anything of note isn't abuse.

The way you lot have all come out saying people were writing him off is a laugh. Everyone knew he was young and out of position and most were willing to give him the benefit of the doubt without being happy to see him start every week.

Even you said he was underwhelming, now all of a sudden you're pointing fingers at everyone else who felt the same way. It's bell behaviour.

Why 13 months?
Roughly the time he's been with us and since start of last season.

Stop being a plonker trying to look smart , the context of the sentence was in how hard he's worked and his learning in 13 months , no hyperbole in that . If you want to challenge my " probably the most improved player in 13 months" then do so by presenting the names of the players who have improved more in the PL. 13 months ago he was a 19 year old kid who'd played a few lower league games and cost £1.5 mill, he was miles away from even playing in the PL. My view is reasonable one that he's probabably improved more than any other because of the low base he started at, but when I read the names you can no doubt provide to disprove me I may be wrong.

If you'd just left it at him having improved i wouldn't have stuck my beak in, it's the need to say 'most improved in the league' that turns it into eyebrow raising hyperbole. I mean you've not seriously sat down and analysed every player in the leagues performance gains have you... if he continues like the first two matches of the season then maybe you'll have a point but at the moment he's had a grand total of about 2-3 good everton performances in his entire career.

Lets see if he can sustain it first.

Ah you can't resist can you , nice one leaving out my "probably" when you made the quote , guess what "probably " means it can't be proved so just an opinion , I don't do hyperbole.

What is this lad supposed to have again? We are in big trouble when he's our target man. A stiff breeze knocks him over.

People thinking this lad is the answer to our problems are going to have a rude awakening. We've gone from having one of the best goal scorers in the league to a young lad who should probably still be playing at League 1 level.

I understand he's half decent at putting himself about but since when is that good enough for a team playing in the Europa League? Absolutely awful at retaining possession, in an ideal world would be loaned out to learn how to pass a ball properly.

Did he actually touch the ball tonight? I genuinely forgot he was still on the pitch half way through the second half
