I could be wrong though and hope I am. Not writing the lad off because he has shown signs of promise but don't get why people are claiming he could be a top top player in a few years. Why not wait and see how he progresses this season?

I'd imagine Jeffers played every single one of those 16 games as a striker. Whereas DCL has started rw/lw/rwb. How many times has he actually played upfront? like less than 5?

i guess the reason he's not always played upfront is because we only play 1 striker, and DCL is a woeful finisher

Yes, much worse than the strikers who get a regular game for us.
He's our joint top scorer despite the criminal mismanagement of his talent by the mad Dutchman.
But don't let facts get in the way of your annihilation of a fine young prospect.

that's the point though, we don't have any top forwards since we sold rom

just said I thinks he's a good player, but his finishing isn't up to a standard to be a lone striker, are you saying it is?

I think he's shown enough to suggest that it can be.
In this car-crash of a season, he has managed to score 3 goals and provide assists on the very few times the clog-man has stumbled on the idea of playing him up front.
 

Great when he came on (should've started, obviously) and I really hope the sitter doesn't play on his mind. Should've scored it, of course, but he's been one of our better players recently and the last thing we need is for his confidence to start slipping too.
