Due to failed transfer dealings he's had unnecessary pressure and expectation lashed on him.
Best striker for his age and shoe size.
Leads the line well for a kid with little experience. He will never score goals like Lukaku, but, I think he will be a much more rounded no.9. I also think he will get his share of goals but will need an out and out goal scorer along side him.
He got MoM in last nights England u21 win v Scotland from Stuart Pearce . It wasn't an out n out MoM eye catching performance, he was played wide left and played as we know he can play when out there, good pace, control , holding ball up , beating defenders , crossing ok but not really a threat on goal. Right from the start the commentators were talking about his abilities and what he brings to a team with his movement , pace etc and rated him highly.
Our problem is we are crying out for an out and out goalscorer to haul us out of the mire, and at 20 DCL is not that ....yet.
I watched the end of the England game the other night and ManUs Lingard came on so I checked his stats, 5 PL goals in 55 games over the past 2 and a bit season. Bottom line is he gets game time for ManU and England but doesn't score lots of goals, and he's 24 . DCL has got a future in the game but it may be a few more seasons before we know if he's the next Jesse Lingard or the next Harry Kane.

Commentators were regularly gushing over him which surprised me. Solanke seems to get all the praise despite - in my opinion - being wildly overrated.
I think that's the big enigma of DCL for a lot of people - " Why is he getting so much game time, what's he got that I'm not seeing?". Whatever the opinions the evidence is that a number of football individuals rate him highly for his age , from Unsy and Koeman with us to Paul Simpson , Englandu20 , Andy Bothroyd u21 and Stuart Pearce.
Was doing a " ' sake why are Solanke and Gray wearing gloves in October?" last night then Lookman came on with gloves too . Embarrassing. Any 'airy-arsed defender would have a field day with the sledging for that.
Countries don't develop these defenders anymore so think they're safe.

I saw one of those " journalists name their England World Cup Squad" things today and two out of I think five had DCL in there if he continues to progress. Might shift the balance and make me consider them watchable.
