I see a player in Sandro too. Unbelievably. But not in this team currently. You just know we'll sell him and he'll slot for fun elsewhere. That's just Everton for us.
Fully agree. Exposed by the lack of options from the senior players. I hope he can come out of this hardened into a stronger player, rather than ruined. Should be coming on for 15-30 minute cameos and given freedom to play - not have unfair expectation and grief hurled at him.Shouldn't be given the burden of pulling us out the mire at his age especially with the overall amount of football he's played.
I'd qualify that as *yet. Not good enough yet.
In my eyes it's harsh to expect him with next to no experience in top flight football to come in and lead the line and the team. Lots of pressure on him as the only proper forward on the team, something that illustrates the complete failure of our recruitment team. IMO what we've seen from him has been promising in glimpses with all around play, but he still lacks that lethal nose for goal.
He was a midfielder till 17? so needs to practice and refine that part of his game as he gets in good positions but lacks the goals.
He should never have been first choice, second or third maybe...
Walsh and Koeman had a shocker selling Rom and not replacing him. Unreal.
He's not good enough to be Everton's number 9.
Unfortunately we've got no one else to do the job until January.
Exactly, needs polishing and yes we have no other option upfront.
I'd genuinely start Niasse every week til January. He's more of a goal threat than DCL, stays in the box more than Rooney, and can do everything better than Sandro.
Because it's a failure to understand that a centre forward's job isn't only about being on the end of crosses (and in DCL's case, missing when he does).
The defenders don't fear him, so play a higher line. They aren't knocked out of their stride by him , so they don't have to worry or hurry a pass or make a mistake. He doesn't have high quality movement himself, so a centre back and full back don't have to work overtime to keep track on him.
Again , it's not his fault he is playing but he is nowhere near good enough. He's Beckford without the goals
I'd qualify that as *yet. Not good enough yet.
