Find a Championship club who're looking for a centre forward & get him out on loan.
He will be our back up centre forward, I hope.
Only real way to tell if he's got it is to play him in his position, gives him the best chance to impress and gets rid of any excuses if he has a poor game. Think he could do with a loan to be honest
Agreed. He needs it badly.Find a Championship club who're looking for a centre forward & get him out on loan.
If he's our backup going into the season we've dropped a bollock, no way is he ready to play backup for a side looking to break into the top 6He will be our back up centre forward, I hope.

I doubt most people would have a problem with that mate, I certainly wouldn't, but, at the moment, we basically have Rooney and Sandro as front men, so until we get someone else in, I think we need Calvert-Lewin in the squad. While I get the "he's being played out of position" argument, he needs game time to get up to speed with the Premier League, so, while he's our backup, I think it makes sense to get him out on the pitch.
If Giroud signs, he might go out on loan, but that would leave us with two strikers in their thirties and Sandro, so I'm not convinced it's as simple as that. If we had another youngish striker as well as Sandro who has higher up the pecking order, then loaning out DCL would make a lot of sense.
What I don't get is the "he's crap" argument. He's far from crap.
He's not ready & will only get ruined by the mouth breathers.
We've got Rooney as back up CF.
Unfortunately you might be right about Rooney - but our chances of scoring against most PL sides is going to be much closer to 0 playing him as CF.
