Interesting to see Southgate potentially calling him up. More a statement as to the state of the England team that him I feel. That being said, while he hasn't set the prem alight this year, his play has improved immeasurably and he's still very young. Unfortunately, the fact that we didn't recruit anything like a suitable replacement for Lukaku has forced him to be used WAY more that he should have been. He's done well IMO all things considered and has grown with real world experience. He always seems to give 100% and that is more than can be said for most in the side. Hopefully we'll get a real striker in the summer that he can learn from and also shoulder the burden with.

Let’s be honest with ourselves here. If we signed a forward player who scored at a rate of 1 in 7, heads would be rolling. People would be screaming for Walsh’s head, and he’d be written off. As it is he’s a young English lad with some talent and seems to get a pass because of that. He’s a fine player, but he’s not ready to lead a premier league line. Hes got potential but doesn’t score near enough given the minutes he’s had.

I love this, everybody will openly admit we are crap going forward, we just don't create chances, or they are few and far between; then people come on here and moan at a 21 year old kid who hasn't scored 20 goals lol. Maybe if we created chances he would score more, logic, no?

I remember a lot of Utd fans used to say Andy Cole(this isn't a comparison) used to miss loads of chances but because they created so many he still scored a shedload. I just think it's a bit rich having a go at DCL who hasn't done that bad but was never going to be Lukaku Mk2

I like the lad, he had he onerous task of replacing Lukaku, and while obviously not up to that particular standard, he's been one of the few lads who have pulled their tripe out this season.

He can start every week for me. The way we defend and crumble trying to keep teams out, we need a pacy outlet and play on the counter. We have DCL and Theo. The scapegoating is just part a sad season of pain and needs to be over asap!

Dont get this scapegoat thing. Many players arent performing.

However its many peoples belief that this lad is just not good enough for the premiership And thats a fair point.

He is rubbish out wide. And that not his fault. He is a cf. He shouldnt be picked out wide.

For me he doesnt start. Tosun is a much better option as we need goals and he has caliber to score. Maybe dlc will be decent in the future. I still believe he will make a decent living out of it but for me in the championship or lower premier. He just wont score enough goals for a top team.

He works hard and i give him credit for that.

Check that math again. 4 goals in 1684 mins. And if you do it that way he’s still half as productive as Oumar.
