2017/18 Dominic Calvert-Lewin

It's obvious tosun is going together ahead of him which means you can't have 2 strikers who have no pace. Hence he needs to be sold/sent on loan.

People had a go at "tranny tevez" for not scoring but at least he tried.

Just for those wondering who tranny tevez is.

No pace? I’ll just about let you off spelling Harvey wrong in your name but c’mon.

It was quite widely reported last year I think. First link I found was this: https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f...nsfer-news-Everton-news-Dominic-Calvert-Lewin

He's signed a new contract since then too.
Cheers mate. I was looking around December when he signed his latest contract.

I find £40k pw at the time for somebody of his age and experience somewhat ridiculous tbh, and given that the club felt the need to award a new contract 6 months later once he had established himself in the first team, tells me that the figure was probably pure fantasy. Then again, The Star is not the most reliable of sources for accurate information.:)

Even now I think £20/25k will be closer to the mark.

DCL is a worker but he has no role at all. He's not strong physically and he hasn't an eye for goal.

It's a shame because the wife likes him.
Not sure why. .....

He's a workhorse but I don't see him ever being prolific.
There aren't that many "prolific strikers" around in the premiership mate. Think if he can give us 10/15 a season once he's more established and experienced, I'd be happy. His all round play will also create goals for others and would have a lot more than his current 4 assists if certain people were able to convert all the penalties he wins.

His goals are comparable with other strikers within his age group (Rashford, Abraham, Solanke) who get game time in the premier.

He's got a lot more development to go through before he can be considered a regular starter in the premier, but with the right management I believe he has the attributes and the attitude to do so.

He's been thrown in the deep end this season in a poorly performing team low in confidence, and most often played out of position. But I believe he's risen to the challenge and, together with Holgate, has been the most improved player in the squad. He's never shirked a challenge or hidden, unlike most of our more experienced players, and I wince sometimes when I read some of the stick he gets in this thread.

I agree that he'll never be prolific (regularly scoring 20+ per season) , and it's possible he may not even make a career here. But at this moment in time I'm more than happy with his development, and just wished that everybody just got behind him, and all our other youngsters for that matter, because if we can keep this group together I believe we WILL be pushing the 6 teams above us within the next couple of years.

He is our unsung player of the year.
Most of his games have been the thankless task of a lone striker.in an Everton team
Which almost refuses to get the ball forward.
Has worked hard.scored vital goals.use him properly he could be like Graeme sharp

A fox in the box to finish chances we never create?
While we're certainly not the most creative side in the world in terms of nice football, I think it's worth pointing out that Niasse and Tosun have been scoring at a pretty decent rate. By hook or by crook, we do actually end up having quite a lot of chances in games if there's someone taking up the right positions to get them. Unfortunately that's not currently a strength of DCL, and it's something he'll have to really work on if he's going to be the calibre of player we want/need.

What viral goad exactly?

And can we stop comparing him to sharp

Never create because there's hardly any pace in the team which is a massive disadvantage. Look at the top 4 teams and look how much pace they have in attack.

We don't create chances because we don't move enough of the ball. Especially further down the field.

DCL and Niasse whilst not rapid are not slow either.
