I know we will miss roms goals and pace but it was refreshing to see a centre forward work his balls off for the team no throwing up his arms when the ball wasn't up to him ,battling up there against the three centre backs .wether we get another forward in or not he will get his fair amount of game time this season

Rom is one of the best strikers in the world. Let's not pretend it's a blessing in disguise he's gone because we get to play a largely unproven young player instead of him.

lol

mr angry here

sorry mate I cannot do that for you, I shall post what and when I want within forum rules.

if you look a few pages back you can see that I posted I was being "tongue in cheek" with the original post. But if you want to be all internet gangsta and insulting, go for your life ;)

Wipe the F5 key down Tommy lad

He shows some clever touches with the ball, especially the one setting up the assist for Rooney.

Not sure how good he'll become but I can see why Koeman is prepared to give him game time to see if he takes his chance.

No play acting at all. Got a shoulder barge bang on the chin. Sky only showed clips of one angle.

Wow! Not seen that angle.

Why has no one shown it from that angle? I've seen countless reports of DCL making a meal of it, and in some publications, questioning wether he should receive retrospective action (no mention of aguero or otamendi though).

Dont think its a 2nd yellow, but it can certainly smudge Calvert Lewins name and reputation

i'm guessing a few people are going back and deleting a few posts in this ... see what happens when we give people a chance, quality last night ... still need another striker

I've seen you say the same thing to about 8 other people, we get it you backed him all along, well done mate im made up for you.

regardless he hasn't shown anything to suggest he was remotely good enough to lead the line in the prem except for yesterday. he was quality yesterday and fair play, but ill judge him after a run of games.

as I said pipe down.

I'm going to have a wild guess at this; the fact that Koeman, Unsworth, the coaching setup and the analysts at Goodison see him, and monitor his progress on a daily basis, shows they know a tad more about whether a player is ready.

The lad has come back from the summer a different player, it was evident in Europe and proven last night. His touch, awareness and off the ball running as gone on leaps and bounds. He may stagnate, he may go and improve even more; but for fans to write him off his pathetic.

Lukaku's numbers can't be argued with, but I used to pull my hair out watching him. Rubber shins, as Jimmy Greaves once said "he can trap it further than I could kick it" & the way he'd just stand & allow defenders to step through him when we were hemmed in.

I predict we'll concede 25 less goals this season without him.

"Yeah but it's only one game"

"The one good game he has and his fan boys are out in force"

I can't wait to see these people continually deny this lad's talent just to save face. They will pick holes anywhere they can and exaggerate them massively. They want to be right more than they want Everton to do well. It's a horrible trait of many people who live in the hugely narcissistic society that exists today.
