Are you upset he played well mate? I think you are saying "well done" begrudgingly?
Not at all mate. Please go back a few pages.

However, one good game since he's been in the side and you're F5-ing the page with the aroma of semen swirling.

From his performances of what I've seen in our shirt, overall it's been poor. But yes, he did manage a good game last night.

Thought he had a pretty decent second half against Stoke myself and provided an assist for the first half goal.

Came on and scored away in europe etc....I think with some, unless he is the second coming of Shearer, people get a bit "he's crap" way too early.

Too many seem very eager to write some players off, it completely baffles me. Then I look at their other posts and it is the same posters constantly being negative and diving in way too early, as some say, they never learn!

oh [Poor language removed] off Thomas you ming, wind your neck in, he was played out of position and looked terrible, plays one good game and all of the sudden the fan boys are out.

Rather unsavoury, no need for insults dear.

Are you upset he had a decent game?

Not "fan boys" just people who are prepared not to write a player off so quickly.

Seems he played the way Koeman wanted him to.Worked hard made sure their defenders weren't given time on the ball. For a young pro that's the way to get your name on the team sheet.Doing OK for a player many expected to be playing in the U23 squad before a move to Derby County.

Hang on. He has a terrible game and that means he's probably a good player.
He has a good game and that means he's definitely a good player and that's the end of the argument?

Finally saw some good things from his last night, but we are crying out for another striker. Still don't think the lad should be starting Prem games.
But that only tells half of the story mate. Your half of the story to be precise.

The other half is the ridiculous number of posters on here, you included, who have been writing off a young Everton player without giving him a chance. Especially given the manager has insisted on playing him out of position so often that many had started to question his judgment.

I agree that loads of Evertonians have a tendency to go OTT with regards to our young players, and I admit I'm often guilty of it myself. But that's borne out of a desire to see our young players succeed. This has been seen with players such as Davies and Lookman and more recently Kenny and Dowell. But that hasn't been the case with DCL. Most of the positive posts on here have simply been defending the lad against those that have, for whatever reason, completely written him off at the age of 20. Probably the most OTT comments I've seen have been to liken him to Sharpe and Kane at the same age. Given that neither of those players were particularly impressive at 20, I don't think those comments are that wide of the mark. Nobody is saying that he is going to turn out to be as good as either player, they're just pointing out that it is wrong to write him off at this stage.

There aren't many posters on here who would be happy to go into the season with the strike force that we have. The vast majority agree that we need somebody more experienced than DCL to play as our main striker, which will mean that, going forward, he will have more of a support role. Coming off the bench in premier games to add fresh legs, provide injury cover for the new striker, and start some of the easier cup games domestically and in Europe.

The bottom line is that he is still a very young player who needs further development. He will be inconsistent, as all young players are, and he will have his fair share of poor games. But last night showed what he is capable of and overall should provide good back up to our new star striker, whoever that may be.

In the meantime, like all young players, he needs the full support of our fan base.

I've seen you say the same thing to about 8 other people, we get it you backed him all along, well done mate im made up for you.

regardless he hasn't shown anything to suggest he was remotely good enough to lead the line in the prem except for yesterday. he was quality yesterday and fair play, but ill judge him after a run of games.

as I said pipe down.
