Donald Trump for President Thread

Donald Trump made two gaffs in the 3rd. Not abiding by the election result and the hombre remark.

Apart from that I thought he won the 3rd debate easily. He layed out what was in store if Hillary is elected and was able to keep hitting her with all the wikileaks including her remarks about open borders. Hillary will leave America in the same state as Merkel will leave Germany. They may never recover from her. Their society may be gone for ever. It will be technically Germany but it's not going to be German. The US will most likely be the same. The belief in individual liberty and responsibility, freedom including that to speech etc. All that is under risk.

He did alright for about 30 minutes...then per usual he lost it.

Let's not forget the 'What a nasty woman' comment while Hillary was talking.

depends which poll and from where people get their info, tho' even going by your link the polls were tighter than it turned out to be in the end. Some also had the idea Kerry was polling ahead or at least that it was near deadheat. I'm going on memory but just had a quick gander:

All through election day 2004, exit polls showed Kerry ahead by 53 to 47 percent

John Kerry Thinks Bush Rigged The 2004 Election

If voters really don't want Trump they shouldn't trust he won't win based on Hillary winning the debates, any polls or what their favourite news site is saying, they should get out and vote. Obama won in 2008 because people got out (he got 7 million more votes than Bush did in 2004).

There's a complacency from the pro-Clinton camp that it's all done and dusted. Trump will likely maintain that unwavering support from the sizable working/rural class and could still end up winning.
Real clear politics is an aggregator of polls, the owner is iirc a Republican but I've found them very reliable over the years, even when I haven't liked the information as in the Bush/Kerry race. There was less than 1% difference in those 2004 results which imo is pretty decent - Clinton is currently +6.4 in the RealClearPolitics average so a similar error in Trump's favour would not make a scrap of difference.

You are absolutely right that polls mean nothing unless those very voters do what they say to the pollsters they will do - but polling methodology is designed to try and weed the unlikely voters out and for presidential elections have usually been pretty accurate.

There is a danger in complacency on the Democratic side but equally there is a danger that all the rigged talk and lopsided polls will discourage Repiblican turnout, we'll see, personally canmot see a realistic path to 270 electoral votes for Trump.

He lost his temper after Hillary hit him with the undocumented workers charge. A charge that was mostly untrue.

Which is why he called her a nasty woman. She is.

the Germany issue is an interesting one but can't be much compared with US. Spain has much more in common with Germany regarding such issues, for example. Naturally, it's an EU partner with an ageing population and masses of liberal women not having kids until they're well past 30.

The problem in the US isn't the influence of Islam these next few decades - the problems are guns, crime, poverty, meds-culture and foreign policy.

Different beast to Germany. Trump may have missed a trick by focussing on relatively minor issues.

Neither can I. I believe the polls could be wrong but not this wrong. I think it will be quite comfortable.

The first debate was a killer and he can only blame himself for trying to wing it and then the sex scandal finished him off.

If someone like Marco Rubio had of been running instead he would have won in a landslide.

Thought the wikileaks stories would have rattled Hillary's campaign in this debate......instead, when she was questioned on it...

Clinton: "The most important question is...will Trump admit and condemn Russian Espionage....

Totally avoided answering the question, and amazingly flipped it back Trump......scarey how dishonest she is, but impressively well played...

Thought too, considering this was a Fox News anchored debate.....the fact it was actually the first unbiased debate said a lot about how even the Fox Network look at idea of Trump as President (I know Hannity is very pro-Trump, but quiet a few other News presenters haven't been ).....

She plans to import a lot of Muslims in.

But that's not really my point. My point was that eventually with open borders the indigenous culture (not race) gets overpowered.

e.g. If you import 100m Mexicans into Japan would it still be Japan? Of course not. It would be Mexico with a few Japanese people wondering what happened to their country.

Now that's an extreme example however America is based on individual liberty and freedom. Most people especially those from non-European countries have no concept of this. When they move to America they vote the same way as they did or had been ruled in their original country.

In other words people who believe in the "American Way" are simply going to be outvoted until there's simply no such thing. No one fighting to protect the constitution until eventually it's not worth the paper it is printed on.

The scale of immigration once Hillary takes over will be so huge that the demographics will never give non-socialists another chance.

She is a good debater. I agree the moderator was excellent. Asked good questions and wasn't biased.

It is a fact that Donald Trump used undocumented workers in the process of building the Trump Tower.

He was fined $325,000 by a judge to pay union workers who lost wages because of the undocumented workers.

He appealed...as Donald does, and settled out of court...as Donald does.

I'm not sure by a landslide, at least in the historical Reagan like way of getting almost all states as each cadndidate is pretty much guaranteed to get around 40% of the vote as long as they have a pulse on election day due to partisanship.

But Rubio certainly wouldn't have had the very high unfavorables with women, Hispanics and college educated voters that Trump does and this was a winnable cycle for Republicans given no sitting Pres/VP running and Hillary's own high unfavorable numbers.

Nowhere close to what EU are accepting.

And the indigenous culture of the US are the Native Americans, they were overpowered by Europeans a long time ago.

From my vantage point (Berlin) it's a non-issue for US voters. The plans for immigration, the history of USA and its current demographics make this a minor 'specialist' issue at best.

No it isn't a fact. He hired a contractor who then used undocumented workers. There's no evidence he was aware they were hired.

It's an old old thing that he has denied for over 30 years which made it perfect as something to get under his skin.

Which is all it was. She was needling him so he would lose his cool and that's what he did. That's why he gets more and more "Donald" like as the debate goes on. She's constantly pushing his buttons.

True but the Native Americans fought back. The Europeans are welcoming them in and paying for their upkeep. Crazy.

I don't know. I was in LA not that long ago. I was there 20 years ago. You see a big change. A Republican doesn't have a hope there any more and that's the home state of Reagan.

Funny that Donald was ruled to have to pay $325,000 by a judge. Per usual he used his large wallet to settle out of court.

And you don't think that leaders of other countries could needle him into losing his cool?

He is not fit to be president....it's quite simple.
