Donald Trump for President Thread

That would be nothing else but giving the presidency to the Hillary.

I met three Americans from the deep south this summer... One of them was in the country we were in because he couldn't afford healthcare in the States and in his next sentence he said the NHS isn't morally right. I was slightly taken aback by that.

Anyway, all three believed Obama is the devil, which I thought was fair enough because I'd probably say something similar about Cameron, but they were in such denial about the state of the Republican party. They thought it was loaded with talent (Trump included) and that it was some sort of conspiracy as to why they didn't have power. One even advocated the overthrow of democracy... And then another blamed it on the <insert racist term>.

I found the whole thing a bit overwhelming really, you expect people to have differing views to your own but this lot were so blinkered/naive/offensive. I knew there was a certain stereotype associated with people from that part of America but they were so bad it seemed like a parody.

I've tried to understand this line of thinking for a while. I still don't really get it, but it's some part of the American conservative mindset that there are people who "deserve" assistance and those who don't.

It's like this inherent belief that not all human lives are valuable, only some, and the most common barometer is how much money you make. If you're not wealthy enough to afford healthcare in the most f%$#@ up healthcare system on the planet, well then you aren't worthy of medical care anyway. Or if you're out of work and on foodstamps, you're just not worthy enough to eat, circumstances be damned. Basically, your entire value as a human being is tied to a paycheck.

But of course, in this man's own view, he is "worthy", he's just fallen on hard times. Everybody else though? Freeloaders. Deadbeats. Burnouts. Failures. But no, not him, he's just having some temporary trouble.

And to me, that's f@#$% up. And borderline sociopathic.
