I dont really think Maupay suffers from lack of confidence to be honest ...he's just useless.
Perhaps but when we sell him/loan him out to Luton or someone equivalent, I guarantee he'll do a Josh King at Watford and score a hattrick in a 6-3 win at home. If we constantly kick him while he's down, he's never going to score for us again

I like this Matty with confidence flowing through your body but our season does not start with a win against the bottom team in league 2. It starts when we start getting results in the premier league. BTW keep up the confidence mate, its better than the Matty who would be jumping off the cliff at ever possible moment
Fighting Spirit and beleiving they can win, is the minimum need for every Everton game.
UTFTs!

He probably would score elsewhere after us you're right -nothing we can do about that. I don't know about kicking him when he's down though...he's never actually been "up" for us in the first place.

Pickford

Patterson
Tarkowski
Branthwaite
Mykolenko

Danjuma
Garner
Onana
Dobbin

Beto/kouyate
Chermitti

Throw the sink at them and get the feeling of goals back
Or, let's put out a full-strength side, pick up a few injuries to key players and possibly still lose, thus lowering confidence even further for a competition that has no importance to the club.

Virginia

Patterson - Keane - Branthwaite - Mykolenko

Garner
------------ Onyango
Onana

Dobbin
------------------- Danjuma
Chermiti

I'd go with this personally. Give Virginia, Mykolenko, Onyango & Chermiti minutes - Pickford, Tarkowski, Young, Gana & Doucoure rested. Places on the bench for the likes of Godfrey, Maupay, Hunt & Kouyate.

Slight change, i would put Godfrey in, just because I don't ever want to see Keane in ann Everton side again. Its likengiving them a goal head start.
Maybe a stary for Cannon over Chermiti? Unless he is off on loan again

But I do hope we play 433, because we appear to have the players for it, with all these wide forwards we now have.

Yeah I think we should be looking to send Cannon off on his loan now that Beto is in.

It doesn’t seem to have importance to the club when you look at our results, yet is the one competition we enter that we have the slightest chance of winning.

We should have been far more focused than we have been in it.

If we are a comfortable mid table side, I would be all for having a good go in the cups, but we're not. So we have to prioritise the league, especially given the poor start.

If we improve a fair bit with returning players and the new signings, then maybe we can take the FA cup more seriously.
