Interesting quote from him at the time of him joining Utd.
“I think I can play as a six but, of course, I don’t know what the manager thinks or what he expects from me. I’ve played in this role before with Ajax. Of course, at the end I was playing number 10, but I also played a few games number six. I can play this role. That’s really difficult to say (what my best position is). That depends on how you play as a team. For how we play, I think the best position for me is a number six or eight.”

Utd fans by and large seem to be delighted for him to get game time with us and for a long time have been very frustrated at his lack of opportunities for them. It could be that he finds the physicality tough like Klassen but the cameos I've seen him in he looks decent enough. It will be interesting to see how this goes, could be either way tbh
He jumped at the chance to join us over Palace and that has to be a positive straight away

I posted a few times that he looked very good as a 6 for Ajax.

There must be a reason why hes not played there for united...so im a bit reluctant to go all in on that.

Hes box to box, so hes both a 6 and an 8.

For ME, a 6 is somebody that sits and screens, he will do that, but he will also break forward, which is what 6s arent technically meant to do.

He's a player Lampard envisages can play between the lines and flout about. He gave the impression in that press conference that he'll be allowed to play a free role in games where we dont have to be organised behind the ball.

You seem to have mistaken us for a Rangers or Celtic, we dont have games in this league where we dont have to be organised behind the ball.

Go and listen to Lampard: he's practically projecting ADB in a Bernardo Silva type role.
Dele Ali will be given a free role, if you think we can afford to give 2 players a free role in midfield then I dunno what to say.

Beeky will move between the lines, its what a box to box player does, they break the lines with the ball or with a run, but it requires tactical discipline from the whole team. If you have a spare 60 hours I can go over the basics of tier 1 football if you want.
