Sadly, I think there is some truth to the assertion this isn’t his fight. One would hope regular football and a very good wage would be enough to motivate a player, but the truth is he knows that Rangnick will not be the Utd manager next season and that he will have a chance to try and prove himself to the new man. As such, aside from personal pride there is no major incentive for him in this fight. I just hope professional pride spurs him on in the remaining games.

I’d play Dele tonight, we need a runner from midfield who can get close to the forwards and run past them at times,

I’d play Allan and de Beek. Doucoure has been poor for a while imo, yes it’s harsh he’s been injured, but he’s so negative in possession.

For us to survive we need Gray and Richie to stop being selfish thinking they can do everything on there own and DCL to return to basics of unsettling defenders and giving them a tough time. They have to play as team members and not as individuals. The number of times Gray and Richie have been in positions whereas a simple pass could set someone else up but deciding to go for glory is damaging. They need to work together and look after the ball and provide movement.
A 2 man midfield gives us little chance a 3 man midfield gives us a bit of hope but the forward players need to look after the ball and not attempt running through brick walls and bring in the other players. Defence is just hopeless so our attack and 3 man midfield is our only hope

Yeah this, he always shows for the ball which is more than most here.
It's going to take more than one player to get us playing well again.
My only worry with that is with Dele in that Midfeild it’s effectively a 2 man mid as he won’t do any work. But I do agree on his attacking threat and seeing we haven’t scored in 4 games it makes sense.
Imo for this to be effective we need to keep the ball when it goes to our forwards, the fact it comes straight back puts pressure on our defence and mid.

Yes I get that. I suppose for balalnce if Godfrey Is left back we should always have 4 players behind the ball.
Not sure what their midfield will be, rumours of shelvey and joelinton out. They’ve played 5 at the back and a 433 recently. But they will probably have at least 1 sitting midfielder. So if Dele gets himself on to them out of possession, hopefully it won’t be to bad.
I just think we probably don’t keep a clean sheet so need goals.
Would a diamond midfield with him (Dele) at the top of it potentially work? Full backs / width would be an issue ( besides also the obvious of us being cack! )
