Duncan Ferguson got a job

Managerial record thus far:

15 wins in 59 games...one win in the top flight.

I think the jury's in, tbh.

Nah, still a little too early. 59 games in management is nothing, especially at the clubs he has taken control of. I am not saying that he might be a top manager but could still get a career out of it at some level.

I was speaking to an ICT fan last week. He said he expects Hamilton to beat and relegated them. Sadly most fans want Big Dunc gone.

I was surprised to hear he tries to have them playing "tippy tappy" type of football up there.

Hope they win tomorrow and I will tune in if I can.

What's considered tippy tappy in the shortbread leagues? Hoof, knockdown and toe poke one in?

Extremely harsh to attribute any blame whatsoever to him for what is and has been going on at Forest Green. Just shows you up for the blatant hatred for the man, why is that again?

For what it's worth, before you say something about advocating him for the Everton job, etc. I love the guy, however, my opinion on whether he will make a good manager is that it is still an open question, but probably erring on the side of no.. No idea on the situation at Inverness, but Forest Green's owner is solely responsible for their demise.

Just for a bit of balance here, he came into Forest Green at the back end of January, so only had the players there to work with, was never going to work as the club was going down, regardless. As has been shown this season, they are a dying club.

His record in Scotland seems actually meh to OK (dependent on the actual situation at the club, came in with 1 point after 6 games, if my maths is right there), on the basics of it. Too many draws, but that is just an outsider view, for example I have no idea how many of those draws were good draws or they were unlucky not to get all 3 points.

They were only ten points off a promotion play-off spot. Change some of those draws into wins, with some better results earlier on in the season and they could've been around there then. Does that mean he's a good/bad manager? It doesn't make much difference either way.

If Inverness are relegated, he'll probably be gone. On the flip side, if they stay up, he'll probably be at the helm next season. Maybe they'll back him and he could be up there. Of course, this is all dependent on the result of the second leg of the play-off.

Like you, I'm still sat on the fence as to whether he's a good manager.
