Duncan Ferguson - The Coach

I feel more excited about the upcoming games with big dunc on the touchline than I would Ancelotti to be honest.

I would rather keep him in place for a while than get in yet another continental manager, if he is not going to fit. I'm enjoying the ride for the moment. I don't really care about what win, or if we get into Europe this season (we are better off without it for now) it's just nice to see, and feel, a bit of Everton back again.

It's kind of made me understand why so many united fans are remaining loyal to Solskjaer. Their club rather like ours became just a bunch of paid mercenaries cobbled together, lacking its old identity, for whom the derby, and history of the club means nothing really. It wasn't simply about winning, but a feeling that they were united again...

Like Klopp or not, he understood the importance of becoming Liverpool and at one with the fans and culture of the club. Propaganda at first no doubt, but now its real, and he is Liverpool, as well as understandably loved.

We need a manager in the same vein. Pure fight and fire (Scottish haha)...

What have we got to lose anyway?

Would love for him to get us to the semi if it’s his last one. He will be driven now to manager one day. 2 wins and a draw against top six sides and a semi. Do him and us the world of good.

Much better than I thought he'd be. Looks to have something about him as a manager. Once Carlo gets here he should go and cut his teeth somewhere, either down the leagues or in Scotland.

I like Duncan's attributes while managing Everton.

He has elevated Everton to another level despite a depleted squad. He provides leadership on the pitch which was lacking before. He has made tactical tweaks to prove he's more than a cone layer at a training ground. Fans and players respect him.

Yes, there are question marks about his experience, but it didn't stopped the likes of Sir Matt Busby who had not managed before taking the role at Man Utd.

Choosing the long term Everton manager is like choosing the Holy Grail in Indiana Jones in the Lost Ark where the glitzy choice isn't the right one.

I dont mind mixing it up. He doesn't do that.

It's Moyesian: long diagonal ball; compete for the second ball. Rinse and repeat.

WTF has he been doing when he became a coach after he stopped playing - stop looking at the evolution of tactics?

He is what he is.

Bit early to judge what sort of football a Ferguson team would play. At Old Trafford he had Mason Holgate playing in centre midfield, and looking good. That's the same Mason Holgate who I seem to remember you don't think is good enough for us when he's in his proper position. I suspect if 'El Gaffer' had done something similar you'd have been creaming yourself!
