Duncan Ferguson - The Coach

I think @davek does have a point - folk are getting carried away over three games. It is great that Dunc has inspired better results than Silva arguably would have with a patchwork team, but I think Dunc probably needs to prove himself elsewhere first. A lot of managers inspire good results initially, but then struggle. Koeman managed to snot city 4-0 remember! Undeniably Dunc has given the team and fans a shot in the arm, hopefully a platform the new boss can build on.

I’m under no illusions Dunc is a rock solid genius manager. But in the case of Dave for me in my argument is cut him some slack. And as an Evertonian give him some respect for what he’s done and giving it everything.

To be fair to him, his paid his own way through this National C B and A whilst working at the club. He did the U18s gig for free to do the practical parts of the first two when he was officially employed as an Ambassador, same as Cahill did earlier this season.
I like what I've seen of him as coach so far. Seems knowledgeable about the game and capable of motivating players.

Has done well with a scratch team and given the club its identity back , we would have lost all those games under silva even without the injuries.
Fair play to Ferguson he has done a good job under difficult circumstances cant imagine why anyone can find a thing to moan about him at present unless it's just for moaning sake.

One more game for Dunc against Arsenal it appears. Good luck! I hope that he gets a win with Carlo in the stands. He has motivated this team and got them fighting. He has dealt with injuries and sickness well and got 4 points and oversaw a fightback against a full strength Leicester side in the cup. He has handled himself well and represented the club well. I hope that the fight that the players have shown under Dunc carries on under Ancelotti. I think we have some pride back due to the big man - we love the skill and beautiful side, but we all know that we need to build that on the foundations of grit, aggression and hard work that is re-appearing now. I am thankful for Big Dunc's time in charge. The right man for the situation.

I strongly suspect that Dunc will leave Everton in time to pursue a manager's job. After these few games in charge, I would think a decent level team (Championship and possibly a Premier League team) would contemplate him and I hope the big man is ambitious enough to take it if he wants to go down that direction. I am also of the mind that he will be successful if he goes for it. Will he ever be in charge of Everton full time? I do not know... time will tell.

What a difference a Dunc makes!

In just three games he's already provided more high points than the entire season up till then. Goodison has rediscovered its capacity to influence the match, the players are fighting till the last minute with everything they have. Four precious points against tough opposition has us looking up the table rather than down it.

Last night saw us out of the cup, but the late fightback ensured there wasn't anywhere near the same disappointment that the first half no show threatened.

The problems in the squad, both through injuries and weakness in certain positions are still there, but DF has shown there's still enough desire and ability for the team to get results no matter the opponent.

Bring on the gunners.

sign off with 3 points vs arsenal then learn from a proper manager for the next few years rather than the collection of inept clowns we've had recently.

Well on that note. One big positive was Moise Kean. The whingers said Dunc was wrong the other night, and that was it, player irreparably ruined forever, the poor little lamb!

But when he came on yesterday you could see he was really fighting. He was not going to have it happen a second time!

Can be sure there were posters on here, who call themselves fans just willing us to lose last night, so they could come on and gloat about the 'cone layer' who will be doing the same if we get beaten by Arsenal!

I for one am going to miss dunc in charge haven't enjoyed football as much in years and that's pretty sad!

For both Man U and Foxes games we have had injury problems not sure who will be back to fitness for the weekend have to wait and see if we can filed a decent line up.

Oh god yes, we are in a proper bad situation and those 4 points could be invaluable come the season end. If the main criticism is style, well, purism be damned. If a scrap fight and battle approach works and gets us away from the drop zone, so be it. Silvaball wasn't working for sure.

Ha you devil. You’d be using that exact argument he made if it was a manager you liked.

Losing a semi final in 90 minutes is a decorative honour to you put going out pens in a quarter final is something to be ashamed off.
A win, a loss and a draw.

3 games and that's his record.

"Incredible" it is not.

Back to Planet Zog for you, mate...
Far easier to sit back against those teams as we have against them before and counter. I suspect if he had to come up with a game plan against a team outside the elite that sits back his Moyesian brand of long diagonal balls would not prosper.

Even if we're down players and can't put out who we'd prefer, I am sure now that we'll give a fight and not lie down like little lambs to the slaughter.
