Not that I know ofWhat? He actually has a kebab House?
No need for this at all.Compare and contrast Dunc with Unsworth? Only one winner. I think he may do well going forward as a front foot senior coach. Touson being subbed was handy for him as his kebab house opens at 5 and the charcoal needed firing up.
Well, it depends on the strategy. DF probably wanted a physical match, high intensity and a lot of duels. Bernard did not fit that strategy. He has not been excellent in previous matches either. We attacked a lot on the right side, favoring crossers, and with DCL, Tosun and Richarlison in the box, he hoped we would take advantage of this.Didn't bring Bernard on when the game was crying out for a bit of creativity. Subbed his own sub against Chelsea and did it again today! Smacks of someone who doesn't know what he's doing. Should be moved on just like all the other ex-players who are leaching a living out of us.
Has the ghost of Clive James possessed you Bazza?I look at his subbing of subs as acts of unequalled managerial bravery no one ever knows if they're going to transform games and it seems an unwritten law that once on they stay on. Dunc has the balls to hook 'em if they look like crud he is a cavalier hero among craven lickspittles a charging colossus rampaging to reach the promised land by hook (d'ya geddit?) or by crook.
Well in big fella

Exactly mate. Filled in for a few games, but ultimately when we needed a cool head and tactics he didn't have them.Didn't bring Bernard on when the game was crying out for a bit of creativity. He does need to prove himself elsewhere if he wants to be a manager. However, if that is the case he'd be daft not to spend a bit of time learning from Mr Ancelotti first, it's not often opportunities to work with the very best come along.Exactly mate. A win, 2 draws and a loss. Not bad given Everton's form beforehand, but not 'incredible' as the media have tried to sell to us.
He needs to go out now and get himself a Championship manager job and prove he has what it takes.
Those celebrations against Chelsea were an increasingly rare reminder of the magic of football when it was a glorious gameFerguson has displayed genuine emotion over being able to help out the club that he loves. Pure admiration and respect for Everton FC.
That's a pretty rare thing these days with the EPL being full of fevered egos who only care about one thing. Themselves.
He has done much better than I thought he would.
I was sort of expecting fatigue to take its toll today - and it did - but we didn't lose.
He walked into a storm with a nightmare run of fixtures and injuries and came out unbeaten - so well deserved congratulations.
A world away from Unsworth in the same position who looked completely over-awed.
Duncan certainly steadied the ship. I thought he came across particularly well, expressed himself very well and was a mature and calming influence when we badly needed it.
As a doubter, his stock has risen considerably for me.
I hope Ancelotti encourages him to voice his thoughts and opinions as part of the staff.
Either he couldn't or wouldn't do it under Silva but I think we benefit from a motivating, passionate Ferguson and that needs to continue.
I disagree profoundly mate.I popped something together when Ferguson was appointed that stated I thought he'd be ok and was an outside contender for the job.
The comparison to Unsworth is an interesting one. Unsworth really tanked and wasn't looked upon again. Ferguson was luckier I would say, both in terms of individual games but also that the squad he has inherited is better than the one Unsworth had. That has given me some confidence really. We are nowhere near the mess we were in 2 years ago. It's a small consolation but we have remained competitive.
That being said he made some better tactical decisions. He didn't just rush a lot of younger players in (and the first game actually went with quite an experienced team). I'd say that was sensible. He has also kept the same system, it's a pretty easy system to learn quite quickly and the players look much happier in it. Again just quite sensible decision making. I would say tactically he has been far in advance of Unsworth too, and has done quite a few cuter things that have helped fox opponents.
The big thing for me though, is he's got a real presence about him. He comes across as very at ease with himself and the world he is in, and seems to relish the spotlight whereas Unsworth seemed to shrink in it. He's also an adept communicator. Yes without doubt bits of it are saying what apple want to hear, but thats an important part of management.
I'm glad Ancelotti is keeping him on. I am not sure Ancelotti is a particularly modern "coach" and more of an old fashioned manager. We need a bit of that with some of our players. The hope will be though, that Ferguson will have a much bigger role on the training pitch. Reading between the lines it seems Ancelotti will look to build upon what Duncan has established.
As a club we've missed that a bit I think. There have been a lot of people wanting to oppose big ideas onto the club that didn't fit the club, the staff or the players. We have no gone on a little unbeaten run against the better sides in the league. If we have a manager who has the confidence to start from a position of not how they want the game to be played, but rather what works for these players thats great.
It's not been a bad weekend really. Norwich look gone and Aston Villa are not far behind for me. Southampton got a decent win but I still think they will be below us, and Bournemouth have lost another important game. If 4-5 teams can start to get cut adrift below us then thats a big first step.
