would love to have seen the reaction of the Burnley staff when Ferguson got in the mix on that dispute

He got some damn fine results under difficult circumstances and although he's not going to be known as a tactical genius , his approach worked when it needed to be done .

Because I know how strong the nostalgia trip had taken hold with a certain demographic on here and they were in danger of contributing to a calamity if those in charge started to take notice of their wishes.

We avoided that calamity because those owners for once got a major decision right.

Because I know how strong the nostalgia trip had taken hold with a certain demographic on here and they were in danger of contributing to a calamity if those in charge started to take notice of their wishes.

Okay mate , I understand that you like to take a stance that is opposite to most. I think that sometimes a bit of "alternative" thinking is healthy for a forum. However , you seem entrenched with your obstinacy , and become somewhat marginalised as a result. Why not simply admit that you got something wrong - we all do !.
On another note , having previously dismissed "those owners" as "carpetbaggers" , do you now accept that you were wrong about that , having secured Ancelotti ?

Let's see him backing this manager with cash and then, if he has to, keeping faith with him in a downturn...something the spinelsss get has failed to do when supporters have demanded a sacking.
