I'm with you on Carsley. Honestly at the time I also thought Dunc was a little overrated by our fanbase (or rather over-idolised). But that win vs Chelsea and his massive passion just gave me such Everton-love...been so flat these past few years. It's just nice to bask in that, you know?

Just pointing out that a reasonable player, or one who is intermittently good, AND scores goals will inevitably receive more adulation than a similarly talented player in midfield or a defender. Them's just the breaks of being a footballer.

It'll be interesting to see if he can get the same intensity on Sunday. That was the defining feature of the day imo. Without it the opponent has way too much time in our defensive third and the counter attacks never amount to anything. Without intensity that system will fail.

Huge question as to whether he can win away at all.

If the side looks good and gets a result then he deserves a look to at least finish out the season. No way should the club pull an Ole but if he can get this side to produce consistently we'd be insane not to give him some time to prove himself.

Substance-free observation: when he was giving instruction to Bernard before subbing him in, the view of them side-by-side was amusing: Bernard's head was somewhere near Dunc's hip. it literally takes two Bernards to make one Dunc. Cant find a photo unfortunately.

I don’t mind getting a ban for this. I stopped posting for a good while due to DAVEK and his posts.
I wanted rid of unsworth but Davek was convinced that he was the right man and accused me of being a red. I stayed away for a while.
Now we have Ferguson in the same position, who has done well in his first game, he won’t have this and wants him out.
Here’s for the ban, not a nice person is DAVEK and what I’d call an online bully.

Tell you what else I liked about this moment: B was doing the mind-the-lip-readers-hand-over-the-mouth thing, but Dunc didn’t bother with any of that - no nonsense.
