This is what I was trying to say to you the other day. He barely played on the right for Burnley, but his skill set seems made for it.

His stats have to be taken with an enormous pinch of salt when you remember he was being asked to play in a role and a system which hasn't existed in top flight football for about 20 years. Same, to a lesser degree, goes for Tarkowski - I've got some absolutely marvelous vaults saved for those "he can't pass" divs who wrote him off before he signed.

Early days, but I'm delighted that Lampard appears to see that he's made for that right side. If he'd played him from the left tonight I'd have been worried.

Good debut...now can all the stat freaks realise stats are totally inaccurate and only apply to circumstances. If you can't then the comparison to old stats make him a mega signing. Against a non too shabby team also

Yeah as a signing for that side it clearly makes a lot more sense. Never ask him to play like he did at Burnley.
