I am going to go against the grain. I think he would be a good signing for us. He had a poor season in Burnley’s relegation campaign which has obviously brought down his value. He is not quick but has a better delivery than we have available to us now. At 22 there will be an improvement over the next 2 or 3 seasons. He can play on either side. If is no more than £15m I would go for it

Dwight McNeil’s Everton career in a nutshell before it starts:

Months 1-3: of season: He looks decent and does nice things he should improve, just needs a goal

Months 4-6: it’s not all about goals and assists he offers lots of intangible things. Really obscure stats start appearing

Months 6-9: the dissent kicks in he’s either terrible or incredible in the eyes of the beholder people will die on his hill

Season 2: he drags players out of position

Season 2 cont: there may have been a reason he was playing for Burnley…

Season 2 and beyond: it was a 5 year deal you say?
