2024/25 Dwight McNeil

I think that’s probably true - but I think it can also be true that McNeil’s one-footedness is almost satirical in its extremity.

Rather than tapping a simple short pass with his right, he’ll weave himself in-field through opposition players so that he can re-shape and find a left-footed pass.

My memory isn’t the best - but I honestly can’t remember noticing stuff like that with any other player, left or right footed.
This ☝️, can't be a$$ed looking for the clip but at one point in the second half he was in position in the middle the half way line 'D' in Wolves's half and he slowly did an anti clockwise 180 turn from his left foot instead of passing it to someone on the right 🤣

Not a great footballer, but seems to be a very effective footballer. Creating “big chances” however they are defined in the stats, occasional goal, and above average corner taker. We have very few effective players, if any.

Talent/ability/trickery/pace/two footedness is a bit irrelevant if it’s not effective, which is the case for almost all of our other players.

Classic case of his form improving while he doesn't kick a ball. If/when a new manager comes in McNeil should be one of the first we get rid of. Apart from N'Diaye that whole forward line isn't fit for purpose.

How bad are we when we think that McNeil is the answer to any question?

We are in desperate desperate trouble of being relegated this season because we can't score. He is one of the few with end product.
