The points deduction skews any current assessment, but he’s a crap version of Walter Smith in truth, and Smith was going to take us down. The same would eventually happen with Dyche, but it’s going to be expedited this year because of the points deduction.

Should we survive by some miracle, we definitely should not be extending his contract!

Dyche, considering he hasn't had the dosh to buy what he needs and who he wants has done OK. He knows how to stop conceding the way we used to but also knows how to stop scoring how we used to. He knows how to defend no doubt, but doesn't know how to transition from defence to attack. It is not ideal but with a bit of cash he may be able to change it

He makes mistakes, and I think his starting 11 tonight and delay in making substitutions are really frustrating. However- given the hand he has been dealt and the point deduction, I think he has coped well in difficult circumstances.
He does seriously need to reconsider his approach for the remaining home games- we’ve failed to beat Wolves, Fulham, Luton and Palace at home now. In theory the remaining home games give us the opportunity to get out of the relegation dog fight, but Dyche will need to be bolder in his team selection for that to happen.
I think he needs to be more adventurous with his tactics, the side almost picks itself bar perhaps a couple by way of availability and fitness.
Stupid having yet another sack or stay thread/poll we couldn't afford to sack him even if we wanted to.
I agree he's doing an OK job under the circumstances and I think if we can conjour a win from somewhere it could kick-start our season.
Keep the faith.

It’s time to start planning his replacement. Once you have that set up you sack him when someone who is going to be part of the next step for this club is available to take over. That is probably the end of this season but who knows. It’s a shame actually, Glasner is someone who would have made real sense for us I think.

Don’t know what they do in training but the manager needs to tell our players we play in blue at home.
Too many are either hiding or just not good enough. That was poor in a must win game.
Palace are shocking. Tonight was very poor from us even though we were still better than them.

My main gripes with dyche that seems to follow in the pattern of past managers (excluding frank as he was just tactically woeful overall) is that he is extremely obstinate and when things seem to stop working he doesn't really try to change anything he hasn't tried before and it's usually precipitated by an injury such as docoure and not strategic switch. He is so reliant on players who can be of use but are not compatible with form or the tactics that intend to played(mcneil) or a player who is just a liability that should never be on the pitch ( young). Godfrey has been decent but he should not be on against a crystal palace team in crisis.

For the love of God, humanity and all the stars in the sky he has to go now today. His style of football is abysmal. The Dyche path leads only to misery.

…can’t believe we have this thread, Dyche is doing a magnificent job. I can’t think of another manager who could give us a chance with the club so troubled and the players he’s been given to work with.

I’d be giving him a new deal.
For what it's worth I (the OP) voted stay, but it's good to gauge the fanbase's feeling, and I'm surprised at the maturity of GOTers by only 25% of people voting for sack.

Wouldn't be giving him a new deal just yet though, I want to see what plan B is and how and if it can be implemented with what is available to him, plan A is scraping us across the line at the moment.

Stay. But only until the end of the season.
I can’t face watching any more of this crap long ball, zero creativity football, whether it’s in the Premiership or the Championship. I think we need a fresh start next season regardless.

Needs to get rid of the long ball. These tactics just don’t work anymore.
Luton played this way at the start of the season and got battered every game. They have changed tactics and are playing much better.
