ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 2

To be fair Liverpool were dominating in the second half and Barca went 2-0 against the run of play. I said that I thought Liverpool might score an away goal just as Messi scored. Even at 3-0 I wont be happy until the final whistle at Anfield with Barca going through.

So glad they have VAR, Mane, the cheat, was rolling around looking for a penalty when Vidal fairly tackled him in the area. Him and Salah have been getting penalties all season for diving.

Was on a plane from Christchurch to Auckland (in NZ, obviously) this morning. Saw the bloke sitting next to me checking the football scores when we landed; so of course asked him what team he supported, the predictable answer came back.

As he had an accent, I asked him what part of the UK he was from originally, he said Bristol, asked him if he'd ever been to Anfield to see his team play, he said he'd never been to Liverpool. Sums up their fanbase really. I'm born and bred 12,000 miles away from Goodison Park and have been there on three seperate occasions.

Almost feel guilty at getting as much pleasure out of their misery but then I remember who they are.

A guy who shops at where I work, is pretty cool, know I'm an Everton fan because I've got a couple polo shirts I wear regularly and we've talked for a few years about the PL. I give him a pass on being a kopite because he's generally decent.

He actually said to me the other day...

"I guess Liverpool and Everton are actually like rivals."

It pretty much sums up their fanbase and mufc in the states... Even Chelsea fans know more. Arsenal fans are respectable in their knowledge. Maybe it's a NY thing, but liverpool and mufc fans are just clueless.

I get the mufc thing because their games were the only one you could find because of a deal with the Yankees. But really, didnt know that team across an actual park couldn't stand you because of all the history is beyond me.

Pretty much sums up my experience. Haven't been to Goodison yet because it's a decently expensive trip but working on it. Check my post above. I don't understand it.
